Privacy statement

Version 1.0, September 2026. Brecht Design, Culemborg, the Netherlands, is the controller for personal data on trackstardj.com and in the TrackStar DJ app.

The app

TrackStar DJ runs on your Mac. It sends nothing about your music to us. It contacts our servers only to download engine packs, to check for updates, and — if you switch it on — to share Beatgrid Lab data. It contacts other services only when you use them: Deezer with your own token, YouTube and SoundCloud through the tools you installed, MusicBrainz and Genius for the samples finder, iTunes for missing covers.

Beatgrid Lab (opt-in)

With sharing on, each ✓ OK in the beat check sends: an anonymous fingerprint of the file (a hash, not reversible to the audio), duration, tempo and first-beat position before and after your correction, and analyzer confidence. No audio, no file names, no account. We keep this data on servers in the EU for as long as it is useful to train and evaluate the downbeat model.

Purchases

Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd (merchant of record), which handles your payment details and invoices under its own privacy policy. We receive your e-mail address and the plan you bought, and store them with the license key we issued, so we can send the key, support you and prevent abuse. Retention: as long as the license can be valid plus seven years for tax records.

The website and forum

The site keeps first-party visit statistics (pages, not people). A forum account stores your e-mail, display name and what you post. Cookies are limited to what the site needs to work and to remember your session. No advertising trackers.

Your rights

Access, correction, deletion, export: mail hello@trackstardj.com. You can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
