Beatgrid analyzers are good at the beat and bad at the bar. Most get the tempo right and put the "1" on the wrong beat, and every DJ knows the feeling of a drop landing on the 3. The Lab exists to fix that, with data no lab has: downbeats confirmed by ear, on real DJ music.
What is shared
When you click ✓ OK in the beat check with sharing on, the app sends the grid numbers of that track: an anonymous fingerprint of the file, duration, the tempo and first-beat position the analyzer proposed, and what you approved or corrected. Never the audio, never the file name, never your name.
What it is for
Training and testing a downbeat model that is built for DJ material: club tracks, funk, reggae, live drums, vinyl rips. The model ships back into TrackStar DJ. Everyone who shares gets a better beatgrid in the next update.
How to join
Open Tools › Beat check in the app and tick "Share anonymous grid data" at the bottom. That's it. Untick it any time.
